At the time of writing this, we have just witnessed and lived through the US government shutdown and also the negotiations leading up to the world's superpower defaulting in their payments. How did this affect the hectic life at Seattle Childrens and Harborview? The answer is, in no way whatsoever! If we hadn't turned on the television now and then, I wouldn't have even been aware that it was going on. Perhaps the financial sector and the hospital administrative types were more aware of the world around them, but apparently not those of us at the coalface. There is not much more to be said really, I guess time will tell. Despite this, it has been a wonderful opportunity to be able to work in another country. I have had the privilege of attending several conferences in great locations around the US including Phoenix, San Diego, Jackson Hole and Las Vegas. These have all been very informative and provided a great opportunity to share and learn from colleagues from around the world.
We are on the countdown until we return to Bendigo. The final finishing touches are being completed to the practice and I am really excited about how it is progressing. We look forward to speaking to you or welcoming you through the doors of Sandhurst Plastic Surgery in January. If you require anything prior to our return home I can be contacted through ua.moc.yregruScitsalPtsruhdnaS@ofni.
It is hard to preempt who will be reading this entry given that the SPS website hasn’t gone live yet and we are not opening the doors of the rooms for another couple of months. In saying that I expect the content of the blog will change as we get feedback from those who read it. If anyone would like me to comment on anything related to Plastic Surgery send me an email at ua.moc.yregruScitsalPtsruhdnaS@ofni. As long as it is in some way related to Plastic Surgery I am happy to comment on it.
